Our desire and purpose is to go into communities as God leads to build relationships deep enough that it models the love and family Jesus intended for us all. In the simple process of modeling Love, God will naturally lead us to bring restoration to the individual, the families, the communities and then to other nations as His nature is to multiply the model.
Our children are being helped and loved on by our women, our pastors and leaders we are bringing together to help mentor and encourage the women and we are here to just bring this Kingdom model to them all so that it may be passed on to other communities.
What we love about the town of Hosanna and the people is that they are hungry for Jesus, they are hungry to make a difference and hungry to share what they know and bring it to all of Ethiopia. This is what we are helping them do.
Seminary:
We are helping the leaders and Pastors in many areas. The first one is that we have sponsored about 15 men and women to go to Seminary to become Pastors. They would have not had the chance to do so if we were not able to come along side them and support their funding. We love the progress we have seen and the stories of the men and women who have graduated of what they are doing now. Most are going out to the Muslim areas where the need for Pastors are great.
NEW CHURCH PLANTED:
We are blessed to have helped start a new church out of our sponsorship and work with the women. The church is open to the 300 children and 80 women as well as the surrounding community. This is very exciting to us, as this community that is being reached is predominantly Muslim.
Police Department:
God has been moving greatly in the Hosanna Police Department. We see this as an opportunity to develop the beginning of a wide spread revival in Police Departments throughout Ethiopia. We have made very close friendships with the Police Chief who is a very strong influence in the Community. He is using his position to change the hearts of the inmates, the police department and there has been a dramatic decrease in crime and increase in many coming to know Jesus for the first time.
Another Partner we are so blessed to have is John Bermel, he is a good friend, Police Officer and member of Hosanna! Church. He is the Founder of Influence International, an organization that brings ethics building into Police Departments and groups in the US and also Kenya and Ethiopia. He and Larry Lotzer another Police Officer have traveled twice with me to do Police Conferences in which they teach building relationships, ethics in the Police Force with inmates and each other.
