Five years ago when we first went to Hosanna, Ethiopia we met an amazing lady Fantu and her husband, Pastor Solomon. Fantu was one of the most tenacious and inspiring women I have every met. She sought us out as she wanted to tell us her story and her heart. She had a calling she knew God was asking of her. So she brought us to one of the hotels in downtown Hosanna. There we sat as people went in and out of the busy building. As we sat in front she told us of how this is where she spends many hours every night waiting to talk to women coming in and out in the desperate hopes to make a few dollars. Her heart broke for these women who felt they had no other choice then to give of themselves something that was not meant to be given. She had 4 women who she had brought out of Prostitution and formed a Bible Study with. She did not stop, she kept going back and four years later she now has 80 women.
Since that first meeting outside of the hotel we knew that we wanted to be a part of this and to partner with Fantu and her husband Solomon. This was just the beginning and we have in a sense adopted these women. Every time we have visited we sit with these women, love on them and pray over them. We have done several conferences to bring life and joy to the once broken spirits. Solomon and Fantu have become good friends and trusted Ministry Partners.
It has been one of my greatest joys in life to watch these women change into the precious princesses that they were meant to be. They are not even the same women when that we first met.
I am excited to say we have now raised 7 looms and have begun the Training Process for the making of the scarves and giving them training in a foundation of who they are in Christ. Its not only a new business for these women but a Training Center, building on their new foundation on Jesus and discipling them and encouraging them to disciple others in return.
